So, I did get some medication for the neck condition I wrote about in the last post, and you can expect more audio starting tomorrow. Thank the Lord for doctors!
Sorry it’s been so long since the last post. I’ve been fighting an ailment in my neck. Yes, my neck, not my throat. It’s a long story, but it does make recording quite painful. So by the end of a day of recording, I don’t have much energy left over. Consequently, my blogging, podcasting, and just about every other extracurricular activity has been put on the back burner. Thanks for your patience.
The neck problem is still present, so if you have an extra spot on your prayer list, I would sure appreciate it if you would add me!
It’s become quite clear that this project will not be completed in the 30+ days that I had hoped. Sometimes we set our sights just a might high, don’t we? Much of my days are still taken up with recording, but my love of God’s Word will not allow me to just power through without regard to the quality of the finished work, so I do labor over each and every word, sentence, paragraph and chapter.
One of the things that slows me down is the way the Douay-Rheims is punctuated. My, how the rules have changed since it was written! There are colons where there should be periods, no commas where there should be, paragraph breaks where sentences should be continued, and very strange and archaic words that I’ve never seen. Which makes sense, since I’ve not read the Douay before, and some of the words are only seen today in the Douay! They’re not even used in any other extant Bible translation.
Today, lots of rain, lots of recording! (No thunder to interfere today.)
Many thanks to Owen for his comments yesterday. I appreciate having someone engaged enough to listen intently, and to bring to my attention any questions about the reading.

contumeliously: CON too ME lee us lee – with contempt
Several El Niño storms have been blowing through southern California, forcing me to shut down the recording process. I’ve made some progress, but nowhere near what I had planned.
