Day Thirty-four
It’s become quite clear that this project will not be completed in the 30+ days that I had hoped. Sometimes we set our sights just a might high, don’t we? Much of my days are still taken up with recording, but my love of God’s Word will not allow me to just power through without regard to the quality of the finished work, so I do labor over each and every word, sentence, paragraph and chapter.
One of the things that slows me down is the way the Douay-Rheims is punctuated. My, how the rules have changed since it was written! There are colons where there should be periods, no commas where there should be, paragraph breaks where sentences should be continued, and very strange and archaic words that I’ve never seen. Which makes sense, since I’ve not read the Douay before, and some of the words are only seen today in the Douay! They’re not even used in any other extant Bible translation.

Not easily done man. Am appreciating these readings.
Thanks, Owen.
